Okay, so a little late but I saw FanDuel and DraftKings posted Friday 9/4 College Fantasy Football games to pick from! Below are the games I’m choosing from. Of note, there are some QB jobs that are still up in the air. Honestly if we get word of the Oregon State or Washington QB job pre-kickoff I could see starting one of them, however I always worry the other QB could come in with 1 mistake … so I don’t think the risk is worth taking, plus you need to be glued to Twitter to find out who’s starting.
Honestly, I see some value in the QB picks for the Friday college football games, so I think you’re going to be able to save money for WR/RB in most cases.
Friday CFB – RB Picks
Friday CFB – WR Picks
Michigan State (-23) at Western Michigan 58.5 O/U
Baylor (-20) at SMU 74 O/U
Kent State at Illinois (-16) 51.5 O/U
Washington at Boise State (-11) 63.5 O/U
Rhode Island at Syracuse
Weber State at Oregon State
SETH RUSSELL – Baylor
He’s the highest priced QB on the board, mainly because everyone believes Baylor can just plug-n-play any QB into their pro-style offense. Against SMU, I think that is true. The only real risk is Russell will probably come out in the 4th quarter, but I doubt that will impact his upside much.
CONNOR COOK – Michigan State
Pretty good matchup, and MSU is a 23 point favorite. Cook lost many of his top offensive weapons to the NFL draft, so it remains to be seen if he’ll be as good. He’s the 2nd highest priced QB on most sites, and he has a history of getting off to a hot start.
MATT DAVIS – SMU
Going out on a limb here … but I think Davis has a chance to really deliver for you if he can keep the INT’s/turnovers in check. Baylor gives up a lot of passing yards because they often are blowing the other team out. SMU is capable of putting up some stats against them, so I think Davis could be one of the better options – especially in 2 QB leagues.
RYAN FINLEY – Boise State
Was named the starter last week. His value on DraftKings (or any sites where he’s outside the top 5 QBs) is better than FanDuel where he’s ranked #3. Boom or bust type selection since he doesn’t have a proven track record of success. Too risky for my tastes, but I can see rolling with him on sites where he’s more of a value pick – especially because the matchup is one of the best of the night + the game is at home.
WES LUNT – Illinois
I think if you’re looking for a safer play, Lunt is not a bad option. The matchup against Kent State isn’t a cupcake at all, but that also means Lunt will be playing all 4 quarters. He’s solid enough to get you 2 TDs, upside occurs if he can get you 3+.
COLIN REARDON – Kent State
He’s a value QB on basically every site and I think in 2 QB leagues where you need one to be somewhat cheap, he’s not a horrible option. I don’t love the matchup against a more than decent Illinois defense, however …. KSU should be behind and needing to throw in this game, so if Reardon can get you a few TDs I think he has upside given his price.

FanDuel – Games (at least feel like) are a bit softer than some sites I play on. Offers money back guarantee if you don’t like it.
DraftKings – Lots of action & money to be won. If you’re not playing on DK, sign up now.
StarsDraft – Was recently purchased by the company behind PokerStars & FullTilt. I enjoy the anonymous head2head contests.
DraftDay – New ownership (again). Sometimes has nice overlays and games feel as if there a bit softer than some sites.
