My QB plays for today are ranked below in order as of: August 20, 2014.
If there is any breaking news, player injuries … ect before the games start, I will update the list below. Be sure to check back on game day to see my final selections.

Arizona State QB – Taylor Kelly draft kings #1 $8,800
Almost unfair DraftKings put this on table (you can’t select players from this game on FanDuel) since Kelly’s matchup is one of the best of the night. If you can work out a way to get Kelly and Halliday on your team this week – you could have a huge opening night. Your only danger is he gets pulled out of the game early …. but likely the coach lets him run up the stat sheet before that happens.

Washington State QB – Connor Halliday fanduel #2
I LOVE this matchup because Rutgers was one of the worst passing defenses in all of college football last season. Looks like to fix the problem, the secondary got together for a Super Bowl party …. and that’s about it. Out of all the Thursday games you can select from, this game has the highest O/U with 60. Last season Halliday ripped up bad defensive teams and I’d fully expect him to have a solid game this week compared to the other Thursday QB’s you can select from.

Ole Miss QB – Bo Wallace fanduel #1
He’s the most expensive QB for the Thursday games on FanDuel. He faces a Boise State team that was 75th in overall team defense last season. The O/U in the game is about 56. If you can save money on the rest of your selections, I like the run/pass option Wallace provides.

Rutgers QB – Gary Nova fanduel #3
Nova has been named the starting QB of Rutgers, and they face Washington State week #1 … which has a defense that was near the bottom in pass defense last season. Rutgers defense likely still sucks too and Vegas has this one being a 1 score shootout. I’m not as certain about Nova as I would be about playing Halliday – but Nova does have upside at his price.

Utah QB – Travis Wilson draft kings #6 $5,800
Recently was named the starter and is a run/pass option that has some skills. Faces off against Idaho State, which should be a fairly cupcake test. He’s the 6th highest priced QB on DraftKings – making him a viable option as your cheaper #2 QB on that DFS.

Temple QB – P.J. Walker fanduel #5
As a freshman, put up 20 TD’s passing and is an effective rusher. There are no returning starters in the Vanderbilt secondary … which could open the door for P.J. Walker. Given that Temple will likely be behind in this game, Walker could be a decent selection if you’ve spent all your money on other positions – or as a #2 starter.

Boise State QB – Grant Hedrick fanduel #4
Started towards the end of last season and looked good at times. Appears to be impressing coaches & press during the summer practices. Faces an Ole Miss team which was solid last season against the pass, so you risk him having a tough game. I think he has upside at this price and in 2 QB lineups – pairing him with Halliday might be a decent strategy.

Gambler’s Delight

Sometimes you just feel like gambling … and these selections are high risk/high reward because they likely won’t appear in too many lineups even with the limited games you can choose from in a Thursday only format.

Vanderbilt QB – Not sure who it’s going to be yet … and I’d avoid Patton Robinette and Stephen Rivers (brother of Philip) almost at all costs … BUT they play Temple this week. Temple was one of the worst passing defenses last season in all of college football so there’s some upside. Vegas does have Vanderbilt as a 2 1/2 score favorite so play at your own risk. Update: Patton was named the starter and I consider him a low-end #2 QB starter, or one you can insert if you’re low on money.
