Here are more picks for this weekends daily college fantasy football games:
Early Saturday – WR Picks
Early Saturday – RB Picks
Late Saturday – QB Picks
Late Saturday – RB Picks
Late Saturday – WR Picks
The QB rankings list isn’t really in any particular order, although I like the guys at the top a bit more. Honestly, I saw some tweets from some grinders this week saying the salaries are tough … but I do see some value with some of these picks.
– Texas A&M
$7,400 DraftKings (Good Value
Better value on DK this week. Good matchup against Nevada, but just hope it doesn’t become a BLOWOUT WINNER too quick. He played 1 half last weekend and got 3 TDs.Paxton Lynch
Was pulled out of a week 1 game because of a blowout. Last week he was 22/25 for 354 and 2 TDs. Mixed in a few rushing yards too. This is a good matchup against an improved Bowling Green secondary which will get a good test this week to see how good they really are.Matt Johnson
– Bowling Green
Reasonably priced considering he’s gone back to back 400+ passing yard games. Had 6 passing TDs last week. If he can keep the turnovers in check, he should be in throw mode the entire game.
Vernon Adams Jr. – Oregon
Grinded out 2 total TDs and 300 passing yards last week against a tough Michigan State defense. Georgia State is near the bottom of the passing yard defenses in the NCAA. The things that worry me about Adams is his salary is ultra high and he has a broken finger in his throwing hand. Plus, it makes sense that the coaches rest him at some point during this game. For those reasons, I expect usage rates for Adams to be low, which could open some upisde if you can squeeze him in your lineups. 9/19 Update: Jeff Lockie will start and is a good cheaper option at QB!!
Brandon Doughty – WKU
Still only has 1 TD pass in each of the first two games this season, however he did get over 400 yards passing last week. Faces off against Indiana who’s pass defense isn’t all that great. Doughty is still pricey considering the lack of TDs so you’ll need him to step it up this week if you want to get any value at these prices.
Nate Sudfeld – Indiana
Really nice matchup against WKU. Doughty is capable of getting 3+ TDs, however his weapons aren’t as good this year as they have been in the past. I consider Sudfeld a solid starter you can use to pair with other QBs in duo leagues.
Baker Mayfield – Oklahoma
Good matchup against Tulsa who have given up an average of 215 passing yards through 2 games this season, but haven’t faced a test like this. Your only real risk is Oklahoma goes up by a ton of points before Mayfield gets any significant stats.
Connor Cook – Michigan State
$7,600 FanDuel (Good Value)
I like to use Cook in 50/50 type lineups because he’s fairly reasonably priced and he’s consistent. I like his value on FD this week. On paper, it looks like Air Force might have a strong pass defense, but they’ve played 2 terrible schools and I’d expect Michigan State to have lots of success against them.
Wes Lunt – Illinois
$6,900 FanDuel (Good Value)
UNC has an improved pass defense this season so I’d be careful here a bit, but Illinois will likely be in throw mode. Lunt threw 46 passes last week, so the team doesn’t mind throwing all game. I like Lunt’s value on FD considering he’s just above average salary.
Gunner Kiel – Cin
His INTs can be frustrating but this isn’t a bad matchup. Wisconsin lit up Miami OH last week and Cincinnati turns the ball over enough to stay in throw-mode most of the game. While its a road game, it’s inside the state of Ohio. Not good enough to roll in lots of leagues, but could be a +EV play in GPP’s given his upside potential.
Nick Arbuckle – Georgia State
$5,600 DraftKings (Good Value)
$4,800 FanDuel (Good Value)
If you feel like gambling, Arbuckle could be worth taking a shot on, especially as a QB2 on DK. Faces off against Oregon who will likely run up the score quite a bit. However, Oregon’s pass defense isn’t all that great, and Georgia State’s Arbuckle has 43 pass attempts in each of the first two games.
Blake Frohnapfel – Mass
Not great last week, and I lost some money with the lineups I had with him in … but this is a new week. Faces off against Temple, which isn’t a very impressive pass defense. Blake’s salary still isn’t too expensive, so I like him again this week, you just hope he can get you more than 10 fantasy points this week.
Marquise Williams – UNC
He’s the most expensive QB on FD. I’m not sure I love the matchup against Illinois enough to pay top dollar for him.
