The Thursday 9/17 and Friday 9/18 daily college fantasy football slate of games isn’t very favorable for picking QBs. Clemson, Florida State and Boston College all have fairly solid pass defenses that likely won’t yield much. Two QB daily fantasy leagues, like the ones on DraftKings, will provide a challenge this week since there’s no real clear cut sleeper QB. Right now, the strategy I intend to roll with is cut cost at other positions and try to create a lineup with 2 of the top 3 QBs.
Thursday/Friday CFB – WR Rankings
Thursday/Friday CFB – RB Rankings
Clemson (-6) @ Louisville 54 o/u
Florida State (-10) @ Boston College 51 o/u
New Mexico @ Arizona State -28 65.5 o/u
Idaho @ Boise State (DraftKings Only)
– Arizona State
This game features the highest o/u (65.5) and the biggest point differential (28). In a 3 game slate, it would be wise to target this game. The only real worry is Bercovici hasn’t really gone off this season even against weaker defenses.Deshaun Watson
Faces off against Louisville who haven’t looked all that solid on defense through 2 games this season. So far this season, QBs are completing passes at a 60.7% clip and have 4 TDs.
Ryan Finley – Boise State
Awesome matchup against a weaker Idaho State team. His stats have been somewhat disapointing but you can look past that with only 4 games on the slate.
Everett Golson – Florida State
$8,300 – FanDuel
Clearly there’s a gap between the top 2 QBs and the 3rd ranked QB, so in most situations I wouldn’t recommend Golson, however sometimes you can’t roll with the top 2 QBs in all lineups. Boston College has played 2 cupcake teams and have looked good, this will be their first real test. FSU RB Dalvin Cook should get a ton of attention, so it might open up some opportunities for FSU to throw.
Lamar Jordan – New Mexico
$5,800 – FanDuel
Ok, so the top 3 names on the list you could have figured out yourself without even coming to this site. However, picking a sleeper QB for the Thursday/Friday college football slate isn’t easy this week. I personally think Lamar Jordan has the best chance to do something. I can envision last weeks game against Tulsa to be similar to this week against AZ State. In that game, Jordan threw 13 passes vs QB Austin Apodaca. Jordan added 9 carries vs only 1 for Apodaca. So while he splits snaps, it appears that the staff favors Jordan. Risky, because any positive momentum for Apodaca and the plan blows up.
