Small list of QB’s for the early slate daily college fantasy football games kicking off on Saturday 10/3. The list is short, not because I am being lazy … but because I think you’ll want to have a narrow range of QB’s you are targeting for this slate. You might have to step outside the box a bit in 2 QB formats or giant GPP’s but that’s normal for college football. I’ll dig deep and find value at WR and RB this weekend since we’re not going to save a ton of money on QBs.
Houston (-7) @ Tulsa 80 o/u
Iowa @ Wisconsin (-6.5) 45 o/u
Kansas @ Iowa State (-16.5) 59.5 o/u
Minnesota @ Northwestern (-4) 40 o/u
Pittsburgh @ Virginia Tech (-4.5) 46.5 o/u
Purdue @ Michigan State (-21.5) 55.5 o/u
Sourth Carolina @ Missouri (-2.5) 41.5 o/u
Texas @ TCU (-14.5) 71 o/u
West Virginia @ Oklahoma (-7) 59 o/u
Louisville @ North Carolina State (-4.5) 47 o/u
Alabama @ Georgia (-2) 54.5 o/u
Boston College @ Duke (-7) 36.5 o/u
Florida State (-19.5) @ Wake Forest 44.5 o/u
Western Kentucy @ Rice 72 o/u
Nebraska (-6.5) @ Illinois 57.5 o/u
Ohio State (-21) @ Indiana 66.5 o/u
Texas Tech @ Baylor (-17) 88.5 o/u
North Carolina @ Georgia Tech (-7.5) 62 o/u
Kansas State @ Oklahoma State (-7.5) 49.5 o/u
Washington State @ Cal (-19) 71 o/u
Seth Russell $9,300 DK / $10,100 FD
Trevone Boykin $9,200 DK / $10,000 FD
Not much needed to be said about these two. Both are elite plays – I think Russell has a higher ceiling based on the matchup becoming a shootout.
Dane Evans – Tulsa
What’s worse than Tulsa’s pass defense? Houston’s pass defense!! Evans was unleashed last week with 51 pass attempts. He has 2 420+ passing yard games this season. I love this matchup and his salary isn’t super high. I’d expect fairly high usage in lots of spots this weekend.
Greg Ward Jr – Houston
I love this matchup against a poor Tulsa team. Ward’s value really lies in his running ability, but has gotten better each week throwing the ball too.
Jared Goff – Cal
$8,600 – Draftkings
$9,400 – Fanduel
Washington State’s pass defense looks good on paper through 3 weeks, but under further review – they haven’t played anyone near Goff’s talents. The key stat is QB’s have completed a hefty 71.4% of the passes against WSU – so I’d expect Goff to cut up this defense pretty good.
Luke Falk – Washington State
Cal’s defense is way better than it used to be, so that will keep me from unleashing Falk in a wide majority of lineups, but I think you want a piece of this game. Personally, I like Falk more on Fanduel where he’s rated below several other QB’s. I think his floor is around 2 TDs – but has upside over 4 TDs.
Brandon Doughty – Western Kentucky
FD only game. I like this matchup and Doughty is being unleashed a bit more week after week.
Cardale Jones – Ohio State
I think if you’re going to gamble at QB this weekend, Jones could be in a good spot. Indiana is one of the worst pass defenses in the country, and it appears OSU is sticking with Jones. This would be a good spot for the coach to pump Jones up with a big game, but we’ll see. Too risky to roll out across a vast array of your lineups, but his usage rates will be lower than normal for this type of matchup.
