The daily sites have slated the games a bit differently this week, but these QB selections are for the college football games that kickoff at 7pm EST. I’ve included the list of games below. There’s two obvious value QB’s that I think just about everyone will be on Draftkings. On FanDuel – I think it’s obvious Boykin is the clear #1 – but we’ll see if it’s possible to fill out the rest of the lineup given that he’s $10,000.
Arkansas @ Alabama (-16.5) 48 o/u
Boise State (-15.5) @ Colorado State 59.5 o/u
Oklahoma State @ West Virginia (-6.5) 60 o/u
East Carolina @ BYU (-9.5) 59 o/u
TCU (-10) @ Kansas State 63 o/u
Florida (-4) @ Missouri 37.5 o/u
Miami @ Florida State (-7.5) 51 o/u
Michigan State (-13.5) @ Rutgers 52 o/u
San Jose State (-3) @ UNLV 50 o/u
Cal @ Utah (-7.5) 61.5 o/u
Colorado @ Arizona State (-16) 58 o/u
Wyoming @ Air Force (-21.5) 56 o/u
Utah State (-11.5) @ Fresno State 47 o/u
Trevone Boykin – TCU
Can a QB be about $10k and be a bargain? I doubt it, but Boykin is going to be really hard to avoid this weekend. It’s the best passing matchup of the slate against Kansas State who’ve given up 288 yards per game. They have only given up 5 TDs – so I guess there’s some ammunition to fade Boykin if you decide to. Personally I think TCU feels snubbed about missing the college football playoffs last season, and now the coach is trying to go undefeated + have the Hesiman – since Boykin is allowed to go off for 4 or 5 times per game.
James Summers – East Carolina
$4,500 Fanduel (yum yum)
Unreal value on Fanduel. Hard to judge how these running QBs will do, but Summers has been spectacular since coming in for ECU.
Jared Goff – Cal
$8,100 – Draftkings
$9,400 – Fanduel
With Utah’s beat down of Oregon still fresh on people’s minds, Goff might be used less than normal in a reduced slate of games. I think the matchup is a little better than it might seem – as Utah is ranked 86th in yards per game, and have given up 9 passing TD’s this season. However, because Utah has proven it can put up a tough fight, using Goff will have to be done with some caution & planning.
Travis Wilson – Utah
I like the matchup against Cal who can get out in front and force teams to throw. Cal has held teams to only 4 TD’s this season, so that’s a red flag, but they’ve played some bad teams too.
Kent Myers – Utah State
Was incredible last week with 191 yards rushing. Since he’s just taken over the job, his salary is still really cheap. This is a green light matchup against Fresno State.
Brett Rypien – Boise State
I think this matchup is a little better than what it might look like on paper. Rypien is a quality QB with some quality weapons and good QB’s have moved the ball on CSU.
