Week 9 of the college football season is here. There were some solid QB’s in the Tues-Friday games, so it takes away some of the guys you can roll with. I don’t have Dak Prescott only because he’s obvious … but super expensive. If you can save money elsewhere, he’s an option. Otherwise I’ve focused on the guys more reasonably priced and have good matchups. The game that jumps off the board this week is the Washington State v Arizona game … both QB’s are capable of huge games.
Washington State – CONNOR HALLIDAY
This should be a fun game to watch. Not sure why Halliday isn’t more expensive.
Arizona – ANU SOLOMON
In shootout games he has 70+ passing attempts and this game rates to be one.
Marshall – RAKEEM CATO
This is a really good matchup against Florida Atlantic. While his numbers aren’t always explosive – he’s a good option again this week.
West Virginia – CLINT TRICKETT
This is a really good matchup against Oklahoma St. and he’s been playing fairly well the last 2 games.
UCLA – BRETT HUNDLEY
Was solid last week in a really good matchup and this week is pretty good again.
Colorado – SEFO LIUFAU
Faces UCLA, which isn’t the best pass defense. Is coming off a somewhat poor outing against USC, but he still had 2 TD’s.
UNC – MARQUISE WILLIAMS
Has 40+ passing attempts in the last 2 games, and completed 80.9% of his passes last game and had 5 total TD’s. Faces Virginia who isn’t an elite defense so he should have room to throw.
Texas Tech – DAVIS WEBB
After getting ripped TCU’s pass defense looks pretty poor. Webb is an elite option just about every week as he has only 1 game where he’s thrown less than 40 passes.
Ohio State – J.T. BARRETT
Can’t ignore this guy as he has 4+ total TD’s in each of the last 4 games.
Memphis – PAXTON LYNCH
Faces SMU who’s not a very good passing defense at all. Has some solid numbers over the last 2 games. Only real issue is his teams a 3 score favorite so you hope he gets his numbers before the game is over.
TCU – TREVONE BOYKIN
Coming off a 400+ yard 3 TD game, and faces Texas Tech so this should be another good matchup for him.
USC – CODY KESSLER
Can’t ignore a guy who had 7 TD’s last game. Faces Utah who isn’t super solid against the pass.
Arizona State – TAYLOR KELLY
Should be in the lineup after missing a few weeks with a foot injury. The backup might still get some run, but that’s not certain. He faces a UW team that isn’t very strong against the pass.
Virginia – MATT JONES
You need to make sure he’s starting, but could be a sleeper pick against a rather poor North Carolina pass defense.
Hawaii – IKAIKA WOOLSEY
If you feel like gambling at QB, or need a super cheap #2 QB, this guy is capable of a decent game and he faces Nevada – who is one of the worst passing defenses in the country.
