Okay, so you can use this list of picks for either the Wednesday only daily college fantasy football slates … or the Wed/Thur slate that exists on Draftkings. Here are the schedule of games we’re working with. Be sure to follow me on twitter or my other social outlets – I will be posting as many College Bowl game picks as possible.
Matt Johnson – Bowling Green
Georgia Southern hasn’t played many elite level passers this season, but I don’t consider them to be easy. I think if you can make Johnson’s salary fit on Draftkings you play him, but there might be better chances to put up points by saving money.
Brent Stockstill – Middle Tennessee
Got to love his game log and this is a good matchup for him against a team with only 14 sacks and 9 INTs all season …. that’s really low. That means Stockstill should have time in the pocket to throw. I’d say he has a floor of 8 and a ceiling around 35 for whatever that’s worth.
Zach Terrell – WMU
Has lots of appeal in GPPs given this matchup given that Mid Tenn is not good stopping the pass.
Brett Rypien – Boise State
Cooled off the last 2 weeks of the season, but that was against near elite level pass defenses. I like him to return to form in this matchup. I’ve cooled a bit on my excitement for Rypien – especially if you’re a 1 lineup type person. I’ll likely spread my exposure to Rypien between 20 – 30%, whereas I was closer to 50% before kickoff. NIU does have some near-elite level DBs that could keep Rypien’s upside in check a bit, where Johnson should have his normal upside potential. On Fanduel the price difference isn’t much, but on Yahoo/DK I think you have to try and build lineups with both.
Hayden Moore – Cin
Has some minor GPP appeal in the 2 QB format due to game-flow, but I wouldn’t center my lineup around him.
Corey Davis – WMU
Pairing with Terrell is ideal, not required though as you can fade Terrell and capture a lot of his throwing upside by playing Davis – a technique that could work well in shorter field contests. If there are any Thursday Only contests … that would probably be the strategy I’d go for.
Kenny Golladay – NIU
I’ve warmed up to Golladay as the week has progressed. I think the narrative NIU will be throwing Good option on DK nearly everywhere since it’s likely NIU will need to throw late in this game ++ Boise State’s run defense is elite level, so I think NIU’s gameplan will be to throw. Fanduel you need to have him hit a pretty solid projection.
Thomas Sperbeck – Boise State
100% ownership type exposure on Draftkings, might make him a fade on Fanduel if you play on both sites. Pairing with Rypien is ideal, but not required.
Roger Lewis – Bowling Green
Good solid option on both sites. He’s probably my #1 ranked guy on Fanduel at this price. DK I’d rather have Sperbeck for $200 less if I needed to choose one.
Daniel Braverman – WMU
Has come back down to earth a bit but is still a viable WR in almost any lineup at this price.
Gehrig Dieter – Bowling Green
Good option on Draftkings in the full point PPR. Good stacking option with Johnson.
Richie James – Middle Tennessee
See Stockstill game notes above. I think he should have plenty of time to find James.
Ed Batties – Midd Tenn
Stackable with Stockstill.
Shane Williams-Rhodes – Boise State
Is always capable of having a big game. More of a minor exposure GPP type player – but certainly can be a calculated mini-punt option.
Tommylee Lewis – NIU
Could be used as a calculated punt play on Draftkings.
Desroy Maxwell – NIU
$2,900 Fanduel (TE)
Like all TEs, don’t go out of your way to roster him, but I could see using him if the salary fits.
Ronnie Moore – Bowling Green
Lower end GPP play.
Shaq Washington – Cincinnati
Certainly high volume players will want exposure.
Donnel Pumphrey – SD State
Cincinnati gave up 5.0 yards per carry and 190 yards per game. San Diego state is starting a QB with an ACL that needs surgury. Pumphrey can reach value against brick walls like Air Force on 18 touches. I think he’s pre-loaded in any cash game lineup and likely most GPP lineups.
Jeremy McNichols – Boise State
I’d only play a high-volume RB against NIU … and McNichols is probably my favorite CFB running back. His touches the last 2 weeks were down in the 25ish range … but he still produced at an elite level!!! McNichols was basically pre-loaded in my CFB lineups all season and I don’t think I’ll change much this week. Although at these prices, I’ll likely have to get off him in some lineups.
Travis Greene – Bowling Greene
Always capable of a big play, but I’m not going to go out of my way to roster him due to the matchup – especially on FD at that price. Teammate Fred Coppet could be a lower-end punt play.
Matt Breida, LA Ramsby – Georgia Southern.
I would say Ramsby is the most consistent but Brieda has more upside potential. This is a fairly good spot where you’d have to expect Georgia Southern to run as much as they can. Issues will happen if BG goes up a few scores. I think Ramsby is almost 100% lineup on Yahoo for the 2 game slate.
Jordan Parker – Shane Tucker – MTS
If you need a RB punt, this isn’t a terrible option in GPPs since WMU can’t stop the run.
Joel Bouagnon – NIU
This matchup sucks, normally I’d just avoid him. However, he’s a 20 touch type player … so given the choice between him and many other players at this price point I’d go with Bouagnon – especially in cash games FLEX spot over a speculative WR.
Chase Price – San Diego State
Is a very nice option in this matchup as a mini-punt at RB.
