Here are the running back picks for Saturday’s games. I’ve kept the list a little tighter this week just because I think there’s value at the top so you don’t need to stretch too far from the top players. There’s some good matchups and doesn’t seem like the salaries are super high.
Wisconsin – MELVIN GORDON
Not much else to say at this point. Purdue’s run D isn’t that good and it likely wouldn’t matter much anyway. They have given up 20 TD’s in 9 games this season and 174.3 yards per game.
Boise State – JAY AJAYI
This is a great matchup against one of the NCAA’s worst run defense. If he doesn’t have a good game I’d be shocked.
Marshall – DEVON JOHNSON
Is coming off a 24 carry, 272 yards 4 TD game, so he might not put those kind of numbers up again but he’s faces a somewhat weak run-D so you can expect some nice numbers again.
Auburn – CAMERON ARTIS-PAYNE
Usually a rock solid guy, and his price isn’t super crazy. The matchup is good against A&M too.
Georgia – NICK CHUBB
Even if Sony Michel plays, I don’t think it effects Chubb all that much, but if he doesn’t play again – that enhances Chubb’s value even more. His price is about right now, but the matchup against Kentucky is a good one.
Colorado State – DEE HART
I like this matchup against Hawaii at home and he’s coming of a 4 TD week.
Utah – DEVONTAE BOOKER
The matchup at home against Oregon isn’t horrible, and he’s proven he can get the job done. Plus the team will feed him 30+ times in games, so he’s a solid option.
San Jose St – TYLER ERVIN
Hot/Cold type player, but against Fresno St – a very weak run defense … it might be more hot than cold this week.
Fresno State – MARTEZE WALLER
Pretty good matchup against San Jose St and he has 4 straight games with at least 1 TD.
Oklahoma – KEITH FORD
Honestly I’m not in love with the matchup (against Baylor), but his price is super low because he’s been injured. If you see that he’s starting/playing – even with the less than ideal matchup, I think his salary is low enough to provide some value. If Ford is out, SAMAJE PERINE could be an option as well.
Tulsa – ZACK LANGER
If you need a cheaper option with some upside – he faces SMU who’s not super strong against the run and he’s done well against weaker run-D’s this season.
