Running backs WENT OFF last week. I guess with the weather changing, it is getting teams to run more. You certainly want to check the weather report – but all things being equal I love these running backs this week. It’s not a super long list, but I don’t think you want to stray too far from the top guys. I do include some sleeper type RB’s that you can mix in just in case.
Wisconsin – MELVIN GORDON
He only had 408 rushing yards last week …. not bad.
Hawaii – JOEY IOSEFA
Looks like he’s back from his injury and has scored the last 2 weeks. He’s got an A+++ matchup against a very weak UNLV run defense.
Marshall – DEVON JOHNSON
Had only 199 yards rushing last week – faces off against UAB who’s not super strong against the run.
Michigan State – JEREMY LANGFORD
Rutgers just gave up 300+ yards to Tevin Coleman, now Langford gets his crack at this weak defense.
Boise State – JAY AJAYI
Has been beasting the last several weeks. While he doesn’t have the explosive game like Melvin Gordon or Tevin Colemen, he’s a very steady and reliable player. Nice matchup against Wyoming too.
Nevada – DON JACKSON
Has been red hot over the last 2 weeks with 2 120+ yard games and 4 total TD’s. Faces off against a very weak Fresno State defense.
Minnesota – DAVID COBB
Nebraska just got lit up, and Cobb is coming off a 27 carry 145 yard game with 3 TD’s.
Oregon – ROYCE FREEMAN
Has been held in check just a little bit, but that was against 2 solid teams in Utah and Sanford, so you might be able to scoop him at a reduced price.
Utah – DEVONTAE BOOKER
He’s viable in 1pt PPR leagues because that’s where his upside is. If you don’t have to overpay, he’s not a horrible option.
UCF – WILLIAM STANBACK
Very risky because he came out of last weeks game, so you should do a staus check. But this is an excellent matchup against SMU.
Penn State – AKEEL LYNCH – Bill BELTON
Both are hot or cold type running backs, so don’t pay too much and use them as an RB 2, but going against Illinois who has one of the worst run defenses in college football.
Texas Tech – DEANDRE WASHINGTON
Very risky play, but going against a very weak defense in Iowa State.
