The running back position is certainly the most interesting for this slate of Thursday daily college fantasy football games. I can imagine there will be so much lineup diversity with this group that it will be the deciding factor in a lot of contests because the overlap at QB/WR should be fairly high.
Jamauri Bogan – WMU
This is such a good matchup I don’t think it can be ignored. WMU has another talented RB who’s having a bad year for some reason – Jarvion Franklin ($4,800 DK, $6,600 FD) is always capable of waking up and having a good game. On the season, teams have averaged an unreal 6.6 yards per carry (on 413 carries!!) 30 rushing TDs!!! And 340 yards per game vs EMU!!! That’s all pretty much dead last in all of college football. Not to mention that WMU is a 20+ point favorite so they rate to be running deep into this game. I think you lean toward Bogan, but I will certainly hedge that bet with some lineups with Franklin because they both could easily get 20+ fantasy points if all goes well.
DeMario Richard – ASU
Does better at home which is where he’ll be. Might just double check his status on late-swap sites. He has a good shot at delivering even if ASU goes into throw mode. If he’s 100% healthy, $6,300 will be a good deal.
Darius Jackson – EMU
Game flow is the only thing that should limit Jackson’s upside somewhat, but he does catch a few passes usually. This is a good matchup against WMU who’s given up 5.2 yards per carry and 173 yards per game. His value is better on Draftkings.
Qadree Ollison – Pitt
On the season UNC has given up 4.6 yards per carry and 211 yards per game. Only 9 total TDs is a red flag. Teams have trouble passing against UNC and Pitt is a run-first team. I think Ollison gets 20 touches, and you hope he can continue his streak of getting TDs.
Jordan Johnson – Buffalo
It looks like Anthone Taylor is going to dress vs Miami, but is still a GTD. You might get confirmation before the 4:30 kick but I wouldn’t count on it. Coach said he was ‘doing more’ in practice … which is more encouraging for Johnson. This is a favorable matchup against Miami OH who’s give up 4.5 yards per carry and 19 total TDs.
Matt Breida – GSU
Not in love with his value since he really needs 2 TDs to deliver much at these prices. Alfred Ramsby ($4,300 DK) Wesley Fields ($3,100 DK) are maybe slightly more intriguing because they could reach a similar point-per-dollar value as Breida since GSU is a heavy favorite and the coaches spread the carries around a bit. The matchup is amazing, so maybe I’m underestimating Breida’s upside value too. On the season, Texas State has given up 5.6 yards per carry and 258 yards per game.
Shaq Vann – EMU
I could see how you could blow your budget on QB/WR this week …. so Vann is viable. Game flow might help him since he’s an above average pass catcher, he might get more looks than normal with EMU expect to be down a few scores late. At $3,500 – I could see him delivering 3-4x his salary on Draftkings.
Elijah Hood – UNC
My thoughts on Hood is that he might make an interesting pick because I don’t think he’ll be highly owned. There are other RB’s that are lower priced that I think grinders will gravitate too – but Hood is capable of some big plays against Pitt who’s given up 4.5 yards per carry.
