My strategy with college football is to not worry too much about the TE position. Think about it …. there’s really only 3 or 4 elite level TE’s in the NFL, so you better believe there’s really not many in all of college football that get it done every week. Even the guys that get catches & touches will have bad games or not put up big numbers, so don’t worry too much if you blank out on your TE spot – you can still cash in most events. However, if you want to win, or come in the top 5 … getting production out of your TE is key – so selecting one that is capable of a nice game is the most important thing.
THURSDAY NIGHT GAMES
Eastern Michigan at Minnesota – MAXX WILLIAMS
I like this guy because he should be pretty cheap and the coach has said he will likely move Williams around the field to the WR position as well.
Rutgers at Washington State – TYLER KROFT
Is at the top of most lists for the Thursday night matchups in college football. If you can work him into your lineup it’s not the worst idea. His team tends to give up plenty of points, so Rutgers should be in throw-mode most of the game benefiting Kroft’s chances at a good game.
Texas A&M at South Carolina – CAMERON CLEAR
This is a risky choice, but I heard some noise that he might be involved a bit more this season in the offense.
Boise St at Ole Miss – EVAN ENGRAM
Missed some time last season with injuries, but appears to be ready to roll, and some call him the X-Factor in the Ole Miss offense.

FRIDAY NIGHT GAMES
Colorado State at Colorado –
This guys was the TE LOCK OF THE DAY …. until it appears he won’t go in this one. Might actually be good for future weeks though, as once healthy he’s a viable TE starter each week.
BYU at UCONN – DEVIN MAHINA
A gamble pick here … but with Kivon likely out – you have no for-sure thing at TE tonight. Devin leads a group of younger players, and there are whispers BYU might work him into the passing game a bit more. If he manages to get 2 – 3 catches for 50 yards in this one, you did well.
Bowling Green at Western Kentucky – TYLER HIGBEE – MITCHELL HENRY – TIM GORSKI
All three are viable options when TE is so thin for tonight’s game. Just hope they get a few catches & yards and you’ll be fine.

Portland State at Oregon State – CONNOR HAMLETT
Probably the play of the day if you play in leagues where this game is on the board and you can afford his services. Only issue is he may get pulled because it’s a blowout.
North Dakota State at Iowa State – E.J. BIBBS
Talented guy. Another fairly ‘safe’ TE play since he’ll likely get several targets.
CAL at Northwestern – DAN VITALE
Had 5 catches for 101 yards vs Cal last season and is expected to be a top performer this season.
Florida State at Oklahoma State – NICK O’LEARY
With Winston throwing the ball, he’s a viable option for today’s games.
