Daily MLB Fantasy Baseball Plays – Pitchers 4/19

I missed cashing in an event I was playing in last night by only a few points, so I’m eagerly going to be getting things going today. There’s a nice mix of early & late MLB games on the schedule – so good luck. Here are today’s daily fantasy MLB baseball pitcher selections I will be targeting in my lineups.

Max Scherzer (DET) vs Angels
1:08 PM Comerica Park
Not exactly lights out numbers, but very solid career numbers vs the Angels batters he will face today. Pujols is a career 1-8, Aybar is 2-11, Hamilton is 3-14 and Trout is 3-10.

Ervin Santana (ATL) at NY Mets
7:10 PM Citi Field
Most people will pick on the Mets today after they got 1-hitted last night, but Ervin has excellent career numbers vs the batters he will face today.

Roenis Elias (SEA) at Miami
7:10 PM Marlins Park
This is a risky play, because he’s never faced any of the batters, but that sometimes can work in a new pitchers favor because the team needs a rotation or two in order to get used to him. If he pitches solid early on – you could get some decent value from this guy.

Colby Lewis (TEX) vs Chicago White Sox
8:05 PM Rangers Ballpark
Only Adam Dunn has a career HR off Lewis. Other batters like Konerko is 4-22. This is another risky play, but has some upside since he is at home.

Jordan Lyles (COL) vs Phillies
8:10 PM Coors Field
I tend to try and avoid Coors Field, but if you don’t mind it, Lyles has limited, but decent numbers against the batters he’ll face today. No one has taken him deep.

Tim Hudson (SF) at Padres
8:40 PM Petco Park
You could ride the hot hand here, Hudson has been great his first 2 starts and the Padres have been struggling a bit. He has solid numbers against most of the batters he will face today.
