Dr. P’s Week #3 Daily College Football QB Picks

Here are the top 20 QB salaries as rated by daily fantasy sports site Draft Kings. Some good matchups this week, but be sure to check the injury status of a few QB’s.

Johnny Manziel – Texas A&M – $10,000FACING TOUGH DEFENSE!
Alabama Crimson Tide at Texas A&M Aggies
VEGAS LINE: Alabama -10
Last Week: 28/41 403 Yards 3 TD – 36 Yards Rushing 1 TD
In the week’s marquee matchup, Johnny Football goes up against #1 ranked Alabama. The over/under was 63.5 points to start the week. Look for Manziel to have a good game but may not be worth the $10,000 price tag on Draft Kings.

Marcus Mariota – Oregon – $10,000GREEN LIGHT
Tennessee Volunteers at Oregon Ducks
VEGAS LINE: Oregon -25
Last Week: 14/28 199 Yards 2 TD – 122 Yards Rushing 1 TD
Lit it up in week 2 vs Virginia and look for more of the same in week 3. Mariota looks to be a very good option in daily fantasy leagues because of his ability to pick up huge yardage running and throwing.

Devin Gardner – Michigan – $10,000
Akron Zips at Michigan Wolverines
VEGAS LINE: Michigan -36.5
Last Week: 21/33 294 Yards 4 TD – 82 Yards Rushing 1 TD
Coming off a big win vs. Notre Dame, Gardner gets an easy week 3 matchup against the Akron Zips. Look for Gardner to have a very nice game and have plenty of running and throwing yards before possibly coming out of the game late in mop up duty.

Brett Hundley – UCLA – $10,000
UCLA Bruins at Nebraska Cornhuskers
VEGAS LINE: Nebraska -6
Last Week: No Game
This is a dynamic runner and thrower. Nebraska has been pretty bad on defense so far this year and this could be a high scoring game, thus, the high price for Hundley in daily fantasy leagues.

Braxton Miller – Ohio State – $9,750CHECK INJURY STATUS
Ohio State Buckeyes at Cal Golden Bears
Last Week: 2/2 30 Yards – GOT HURT DURING GAME
Sprained his MCL ligament in his knee last week. Make sure he is playing before starting him. The Cal Bears defense is really weak, so if Miller does play and is healthy he will put up big numbers.

Teddy Bridgewater – Louisville – $9,500
Louisville Cardinals at Kentucky Wildcats
VEGAS LINE: Louisville -11
Last Week: 23/32 397 Yards 4 TD
Another huge game through the air for Bridgwater during week 2. He doesn’t run which is why he is slightly cheaper than the other QB options ahead of him.

Jameis Winston – Florida State – $9,250GREEN LIGHT
Nevada Wolf Pack at Florida State Seminoles
VEGAS LINE: Florida State -32
Last Week: No Game
Big time runner and thrower, he is a good high end option this week if you don’t want to go Manziel or Mariota. Look for Florida State to put up 30-40 points in this one.

Taylor Martinez – Nebraska – $9,000
UCLA Bruins at Nebraska Cornhuskers
VEGAS LINE: Nebraska -6
Last Week: 15/23 170 Yards 3 TD – 34 Rushing Yards
Was only ok in daily leagues for week 2, look for his numbers to improve in week 3 vs. UCLA.

Vad Lee – Georgia Tech – $8,500
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Duke Blue Devils
VEGAS LINE: Georgia Tech -8
Last Week: No Game
Lee is from North Carolina and will return home in week 3 to play Duke. At $8,500 he is not a bad option that will save you some money to spend elsewhere on your lineup.

Keenan Reynolds – Navy – $8,250
Delaware vs Navy
Last Week: 2/4 71 Yards – 32 Carries 177 Yards 3 TD
Keenan is more of a running back that plays QB. He carried the ball 32 times vs. Indiana and look for more of the same in the Delaware game in week 3.

Bo Wallace – Ole Miss – $8,000 FACING WEAK DEFENSE!
Ole Miss vs Texas
Last Week: 8/15 188 Yards 2 TD – 2 Carries 15 Yards
Wallace had a bad game in terms of fantasy in week 2. Texas has one of the worst defenses in NCAA football through two weeks, so Wallace is an interesting option in daily leagues.

Taylor Kelly – Arizona State – $7,750FACING TOUGH DEFENSE!
Wisconsin Badgers at Arizona State Sun Devils
Last Week: 23/31 300 Yards 5 TD – 6 Carries 25 Yards
Wisconsin has the #1 defense in the country right now after two games. Kelly will probably throw the ball a lot but his stats and TD’s may be limited.

Kevin Hogan – Stanford – $7,750
Stanford @ Army
Last Week: 17/27 207 Yards 2 TD – 3 Carries 17 Yards
Should be an easy game for Stanford this week, but that might limit the stats Hogan can get. There are some cheaper options that might be a better play than Hogan this week in daily fantasy sports.

Keith Price – Washington– $7,750
Washington Huskies at Illinois Fighting Illini
VEGAS LINE: Washington -10.5
Last Week: No Game
Had a great game in week 1 in a good win vs Boise State. The offense in Washington is simpler this year and many predict a good Senior year for Price. The game vs. Illinois could be close and Vegas has an over/under of 60.  Keith could be a good choice if you are feeling good about him.

David Ash – Texas – $7,500NO! HURT!
Ole Miss vs Texas
Last Week: 19/34 251 Yards 2 TD – 16 Carries 34 Yards

Sean Mannion – Oregon State – $7,250
Oregon State Beavers at Utah Utes
VEGAS LINE: Utah – 2
Last Week: 31/43 372 Yards 4 TD
Mannion was named the Oregon State starting QB late in the summer and has put up two really nice back to back games.  Utah’s defense is middle of the pack, so Mannion could be a good low budget pick for week 3.

J.W. Walsh – Oklahoma State – $7,250 – GREEN LIGHT
Lamar @ Oklahoma State
Last Week: 24/27 326 Yards 4 TD – 1 Rushing TD
A mixed bag from Walsh the first two weeks. Put up over 100 yards rushing in week one, but didn’t throw the ball well. In week two he was nearly perfect through the air in a bounce back cupcake win.

Philip Nelson – Minnesota – $7,000 – GREEN LIGHT
Western Illinois vs Mineesota
Last Week: 8/15 127 Yards 0 TD 1 INT – 15 Carries 122 Yards 1 TD
Nelson is a runner who can pick up a lot of yards on the ground.  In a cupcake game vs Western Illinois look for Nelson to get busy in daily fantasy leagues.

Logan Thomas – Virginia Tech – $6,750 – Not Playing Well
Virginia Tech Hokies at East Carolina Pirates
VEGAS LINE: Virginia Tech – 7
I wouldn’t go with Thomas. His confidence appears to be low and there will be some better options this week.
