Got a big NBA slate of games today – that’s already under way. I’m still in rest & recovery mode after new years celebrations took their toll. With that being the case, I think I’m going to target some of the partial slates on the NBA schedule tonight January 2, 2016, since digesting the entire slate can be somewhat difficult – especially on Fanduel where you’re not allowed to late-swap.
Here are some target scores we are shooting for in the partial slates. I like the 3 game slates over the 2 game slates – especially on Fanduel where you get tons of overlap.
8:00pm Turbo (3 Games): 260
9:00pm Late (3 Games): 250
8:00pm Express (6 Games): 280
9:00pm Late Night (3 Games): 270
Here are the players I will be targeting in each of the slates. It’s very similar strategy from cash/tournaments … so that’s why I like these partial slates when you’re still hung over & recovering. I’m not trying to be lazy, just smart about my DFS play. If you don’t have time to do lots of research on players, play in the smaller slates so who you play is almost decided for you.
8:00pm Turbo (3 Games): Giannis, Anthony Davis, Towns, Rubio
9:00pm Late (3 Games): Curry, Hayward, Marc Gasol, Favors
8:00pm Express: Rubio, Ish Smith, Hayward, Anthony Davis
9:00pm Late Night: Ish, CP3, Barton, Hayward, Favors, Zach Randolph
Here are some value guys I’ll be possibly looking to rotate in. Typically in the short slate – I like to go with the guys/matchups that are clearly a good spot. In GPPs I try to target the guy who has high upside … but might not be high owned for whatever reason.
G – Jrue Holiday
G – Isaiah Canaan
G – Jamal Crawford
G – manu Ginobili
G – Tony Allen
F – Jabari Parker
F – Terrence Jones
F – Jerami Grant
C – Gorgui Dieng
Recap: The last time I played was a few nights ago. I believe I cash-bubbled a GPP by 1 point in a 2 game slate. Looking forward to getting back on the grind. College football is over – maybe for good in terms of DFS 🙁 so until MLB season is here, I’ll likely exclusively grind NBA for the next few months. I figured with that being the case, taking a day off here in there is actually good.
