Got some larger than normal tournaments for a mid-week contest on Draftkings tonight including a $1m GPP. Fanduel’s got more single entry GPPs running this week, which really aren’t my thing. Tonight the mini-slates are mostly 2 game, which I also find a bit more challenging than I’d like. Also, you’ve got players in this slate that feel a bit more GPPish – so cash games in the full 8 game slate should be challenging as well. Overall, a challenging night for January 27, 2016 – so if you’re new to NBA DFS, just be aware of that.

Here are the target scores for Fanduel. For the first time in a while, I might go dark on Fanduel tonight because I really like 4 game mini-slates, and the 3 game slate is going to be fairly standard plays. We’ll see though. Sometimes that’s a good spot to pivot off chalk in GPPs.

1/26 Recap: Last night went really good since I was involved in the slate that had the OKC/NY OT game. I was worried I had too many Knicks bench players, but it ended up working out ok. I was already in the money when the games went into OT – so basically it was just padding my stats.
Honestly there were some tough decisions last night. I had to split my cash game lineups for the first time in a bit because I couldn’t decide between Gortat or Vucevic. I ended up weighting more lineups with Vucevic and that was the right call. Langston Galloway was the lowest owned player I had (about 5% in most spots) … but I liked him because he’s been playing well, and I thought he had some upside just in case NY got blown out or Westbrook got the starting guards in foul trouble.
Overall, very successful night. Tonight I’m probably going to stick to my gameplan for at least another night. There is a $1m tournament on DK and other’s that might be tempting as well. FanDuel has lots of single entry – which I think some amateur players thinks is easier than multi-entry … I actually think it’s much harder. In multi-entry GPPs, you have people stretching their range with lineups that have less chance of cashing. I’d rather play against those lineups than be forced to play low-owned guys in single entry GPPs because everyone is playing the chalk. Might be just be my tastes, but I don’t run and enter single entry tournaments because I find it’s actually a harder game format to cash. And most are here to make cash, not test wits. Good Luck tonight!
